"I'm a ghost," Noah said, and he could say more, he wanted to say more, but he thought it was explanation enough. He didn't want to start a pity party, or think about it too much, the improbability of him being with someone in any capacity. Maybe if he didn't say anything, Krem wouldn't realize that he could do so much better.
"And I liked distracting you," he added, hiding a smile in Krem's hair. "Though I wish it could have just been for no reason, that you only had nice dreams."
