"I'm fine," Dean huffs, but he knows he doesn't look it. "Just feel like a drained up battery." He can barely stay awake for a few hours strung together, and his stomach is empty all the time, but today feels better than yesterday.
There's something about being truly pathetic that makes him want to be nicer - survival instincts, probably, he's basically an infant like this - and his smile for them both is genuine.
